Strategic Product Manager

This privately owned Sydney- based company is a key player in the development and marketing of both ingredients and finished products for the therapeutic and functional food industries.

Job description:

  • Management & development of strategic ingredient portfolio within Australia & New Zealand.
  • The successful candidate will have to demonstrate the ability to take management of strategic growth accounts
  • Responsibility for pricing and positioning of the products.
  • Monitor sales activities/development and profit across the company portfolio
  • Take commercial leadership and initiate extensions of the portfolio into new market segments in conjunction with the Marketing team
  • Development of new promotional tools in conjunction with both the company marketing team and the ingredient manufacturers R&D teams.
  • Develop and maintain positioning concepts for the ingredients in response to the current market trends
  • Work with manufacturers to develop documentation dossiers meeting the market regulations
  • Driving sales in the market while supporting and coordinating relevant team activities
  • Periodic interstate and international travel to liaise with key accounts and manufacturers

Successful Candidate:

  • 3+ year’s commercial experience
  • In-depth knowledge of bakery & dietary supplement industries and ideally an understanding of FMCG
  • Proactive personality with good sense for Marketing and Technical support activities
  • Team player with high measure of self motivation and initiative
  • Excellent communication skills, both written & verbal, & good negotiation skills
  • Skills in technical writing and public speaking preferred
