Settlement Grants Program Worker
The NSW Spanish and Latin American Association for Social Assistance Inc. (NSW SLASA) invites applications for the part time position (24 hours per week) of Community Settlement Grants Worker for Sydney area funded by the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC).
All applicants must address the following essential and desirable criteria:
Essential: Relevant qualifications in the Social Sciences or Community Welfare Ability to communicate effectively, good written and oral skills Fluency in Spanish and English Understanding of issues affecting the Spanish speaking communities Broad knowledge of community resources in NSW Ability to work as part of a team and within a community based structure Demonstrated ability to advocate on behalf of individuals and the community Demonstrated experience in providing information and referral Flexibility to travel within the Sydney Metropolitan Area Access to a car and a drivers license.
Desirable: Demonstrated knowledge of resources and programs available for new arrivals. Good computer knowledge Experience in organizing information sessions and seminars.
