    Due to continued growth we are seeking a Senior Environmental Scientist / Engineer to join our expanding team of dedicated professionals. The role is based in our Sydney office in St Leonards within our Water & Environment Group. The person will have previous project and commercial management experience in at least one of the following fields: environmental impact assessment, management strategies and plans, permits and approvals, natural resource management, environmental compliance auditing, or acting as an Environmental Management Representative on active development sites.

    The successful candidates will possess:

    • Experience working within a local consulting or government environment
    • Experience in EIA and associated report preparation with skills and a specialisation in one or more of the following fields: waste management, air quality, heritage, terrestrial ecology.
    • Degree qualifications with Honours are also essential and post graduate qualifications desirable.
    • Experience in urban development, resources and/or infrastructure impact assessment for NSW-based projects is desirable but not essential

    Responsibilities will include but will not be limited to:

    • Management of project team members and contractors in order to ensure work is delivered to Cardno’s high standards
    • Ensure that company and client deadlines, commitments and expectations are managed appropriately in the given time frame and budget
    • Prepare tender administration, contractor documentation and client reports
    • To liaise with clients, stakeholders and other staff as required
