Senior Coordinator Legal Services
This is a permanent full-time position based in the Sydney CBD.
Overview of Duties
The position requires a person capable of assisting the Assistant Secretary, on the day to day management, control and performance of work within Legal Services. This includes the provision of advice to internal PANSW staff, PANSW Executive, branch officials and members; making representations on behalf of members to the NSW Police Force and other organisations; negotiating outcomes to disputes or workplace difficulties on behalf of members and representing PANSW at various committees, joint working parties, conferences, union council meetings etc.
A sound knowledge of the core business, services and practices of the Police Association.
An extensive knowledge of current and emerging legal issues generally and specifically as they relate to Police Officers.
A legal background and legal qualifications are desirable.
Applicants for the position should have a demonstrated ability to perform these functions, as well as a commitment to the Association and the principles of trade unionism.
Remuneration for this position and other conditions of employment are prescribed by the relevant Industrial Award.
