Job Title: Planning Officer
Job Grade / Classification: Planning Officer (Professional) Level 1
Location: Grafton
The Department of Planning and Infrastructure is seeking a highly motivated Planner to join our team, in the Northern Region office based in Grafton.
Your main role will be to help facilitate and coordinate planning for the North Coast of NSW.
The Planning Officer will be part of a small team working towards the delivery of statutory and strategic planning outcomes in the region to ensure Government objectives for state, regional and local planning are achieved. As part of the position you are required to liaise closely with our partners in Local Government, therefore good communication skills are essential.
Your responsibilities as part of the team will also include providing guidance and advice to both internal and external stakeholders, implement and maintain the LEP process to ensure the Department complies with relevant legislative, policy and whole of Government regulatory requirements and undertake strategic land use planning for the region.
Travel within the Northern Region will be required.

Position status: This is a temporary appointment for a period up to 12 months under sections 27 or 86 of the Public Sector Employment and Management Act 2002.
Eligibility: To be eligible to apply for temporary positions within the Department of Planning & Infrastructure, candidates must be an Australian citizen or have the status of permanent residence in Australia, or have a valid working visa for the full term of the temporary position.
