Manager Trade Finance


State Bank of India (SBI) is the largest Bank in India with over 18,000 branches in India and 173 International Branches. Established recently, the Sydney branch is gradually expanding its presence in Australia.

The role of the Trade Finance manager is an exciting opportunity for someone who has 2 - 3 years’ experience in a similar role or a supporting Trade Finance role, and is now looking to step up to a more senior position. Being a specialised role a candidate must have the following qualities:

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with fluency in English.
  • Qualifications – Graduate degree and a minimum of 2 years trade finance/international settlements experience.
  • The successful candidate will demonstrate relevant knowledge gained within a Banking or Financial Services environment.
  • Knowledge and understanding of trade finance related laws, covenants and practices.
  • Able to work with high levels of accuracy, attention to detail, ability to work under pressure with the aptitude to learn are essential.
  • Experience in working on Banking systems like FINACLE though not essential will be an advantage.
  • Desire to Learn in a helpful and friendly environment.

Your role will involve but not limited to : -

  • Manage all aspects of international settlements including:Letters of credit, Documentary collections, Bank Guarantees & Trade Finance business (including short term trade loans).
  • Developing new relationships in the market and growing the trade finance portfolio.
  • Responsible for the all aspects of sales relating to trade finance clients including corporate and financial institutions.
  • Assist the VP Trade in identifying potential clients that require LC advice, supporting customers with import, export & trade finance solutions.
  • Customer relationship maintenance including account opening for new clients, collecting customer information, KYC checks, company searches and AML checks.
  • Prepare all associated documentation ensuring ????? ????? internal processes & controls whilst liaising with internal departments within the bank.
  • MIS and reporting including regulatory reporting related to Trade.
  • Liaising with Internal / External Audit teams.
