    To develop, extend and add value to Deakin University’s partnerships with Institutes of TAFE consistent with the University’s Strategic Plan and the policy objectives of the Australian and Victorian governments pertaining to a unified tertiary education sector.
    PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
    • Manage the formal partnership agreements between Deakin University and Institutes of TAFE, including the four way agreement between Deakin University, the Gordon Institute, South West Institute and Box Hill Institute.
    • Maintain and develop articulation arrangements between Deakin University and Institutes of TAFE.
    • Develop joint programs between Deakin University and Institutes of TAFE, including programs delivered by Institutes of TAFE leading to study at Deakin and vice versa.
    • Ensure the accuracy and user-friendliness of Deakin’s Credit for Prior Learning database for students at other institutions seeking to gain credit towards a Deakin course.
    • Ensure the implementation of all University policies that relate to the areas for which the position is responsible, in particular, those relating to equal opportunity, occupational health and safety, risk management, staff development and staff performance planning and review.
    TYPICAL DUTIES
    • Act as the focal point for academic and general staff in Faculties and Schools on all matters concerned with partnerships with Institutes of TAFE.
    • Identify joint course opportunities addressing skills and training needs, including through analysing information produced by Skills Australia and Industry Skills Councils, and work with Faculties to develop and champion new product, especially embedded programs.
    • Provide policy advice to the University community and to Institutes of TAFE in regard to credit transfer, advanced standing and credit for prior learning and the application of the Australian Qualifications Framework to Deakin courses and articulation arrangements with TAFE.
    • Extend partnership activity with Institutes of TAFE to encompass research alliances and solutions for industry and services to support student mobility between the University and Institutes of TAFE.
    • Monitor the implementation of the Deakin-TAFE Alliance and other agreements between the University and Institutes of TAFE, ensuring ????? ????? University meets all of its obligations under the agreements.
    • Ensure Deakin’s Credit for Prior Learning database is accurate, up-to-date and useful to students at other institutions seeking to gain credit towards a Deakin course.
    • Develop and advocate professional development opportunities for University and Institute of TAFE staff at partner institutes.
    • Any other duties as directed, commensurate with the scope and classification of the position.
