The Health Information Management Association of Australia (HIMAA) is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced individual to lead the Association in the important leadership role of Chief Executive Officer.
HIMAA is the national member association for health information management professionals in Australia. HIMAA’s vision is to improve the health of Australians through professional information management in healthcare. The enduring ????? ????? HIMAA is to seek to promote and support our members as the universally recognised specialists in information management at all levels of the healthcare system.
HIMAA is a not for profit organisation registered in the State of New South Wales. HIMAA is governed by a Board of Directors, elected from the membership, in accordance with the Association’s Articles of Association.
HIMAAA has a national office in Sydney and employees 12 staff in full time and part time capacities. A number of functions of HIMAA are performed in a voluntary capacity by members. State and Territory HIMAA branches and networks operate, the majority with their own Executives. HIMAA has between (??) ???? ???? members.
HIMAA is a Recognised Training Organisation (RTO) registered with the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) and currently provides medical terminology and clinical coding education courses by distance education.
The Chief Executive Officer serves as Chief Executive of HIMAA and, in partnership with the Board, is responsible for the professional and financial success of HIMAA. Together, the Board and Chief Executive Officer assure HIMAA’s relevance and contribution within the healthcare industry, the accomplishment of HIMAA’s mission and strategic objectives, and the accountability of HIMAA to its members.
The HIMAA Board is seeking an individual with appropriate management and executive level skills, experience and knowledge to be the CEO of HIMAA. Knowledge and experience in the health information management domain is also required in order to successfully represent and advocate for the health information management profession.

A competitive contract will be negotiated with the successful candidate.
