CENTRE DIRECTOR-OOSH

 



Arabanoo Before & After School Care Inc. is a not-for-profit incorporated association that provides before & after school care and vacation care programs. The centre is located in at Balgowlah Heights Public School and is governed by an extremely supportive parent management committee. The centre has its own dedicated space with office and kitchen attached. Arabanoo is seeking an experienced and qualified educator to join as our full time Centre Director (Nominated Supervisor). Reporting to the Parent Management Committee, you will be responsible for continuing to enhance the operation through creative & dynamic leadership, while maintaining a high level of compliance with industry best practice.

Responsibilities

  • Co-ordinating and managing the day to day operation of the service
  • Supervising and developing an OOSH program for 5 – 12 year olds
  • Managing appropriate rostering ????? ????? level of supervision
  • Overseeing centre administration, planning, programming and implementing the National Quality Framework
  • Ensuring ????? ????? quality standard of care is provided and that a happy, safe and professional environment is maintained.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Certificate IV or Diploma in Out of School Hours Care, Diploma in Children’s Services and at least 3yrs experience working with 5-12yr olds in an OOSH environment
  • Knowledge of National Quality Framework, My Time Our Place, and National Regulations.
  • Experience with program planning, preferably in an OOSH setting
  • First Aid Certificate, along with the appropriate anaphylaxis and asthma certificates

  • A positive, professional and co-operative approach to working with staff, parents and the school community
  • Enthusiastic, creative and highly motivated Strong leadership, mentoring ????? ????? skills
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge of childcare software programs

Conditions of Employment and Salary

  • Split shifts of mornings (7:15am – 9:30am) and afternoons (2:30pm – 6:30pm) during ????? ????? and various shifts in vacation care plus admin hours (rostered hours to be negotiated according to the needs of the service).
  • The position will be in accordance with the Children’s Services Award depending on experience and qualifications
  • A Working with Children Check applies to this position
